Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) form a vast, intricate matrix of intellectual, spiritual, and scientific traditions developed over millennia in India. They include contributions in philosophy, linguistics, medicine, ecology, education, and governance. While Western education models overshadowed them during colonial rule, IKS are resurging as invaluable tools for sustainable development, ethical living, and holistic education. This paper explores the foundations, themes, and modern relevance of IKS, enriched with Sanskrit sources and shlokas that emphasize their indigenous authenticity. It argues that integrating IKS into contemporary learning is essential for a culturally anchored and sustainable future.
