Autoimmune disorders occur when the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks its own tissues, resulting in chronic inflammation and progressive tissue damage. These conditions are often aggravated by stress, irregular lifestyle patterns, and psychosomatic disturbances. Yoga, as a holistic discipline rooted in ancient Indian tradition, offers an integrative approach to health by uniting body, breath, and mind. Through practices such as āsana (postures), prāṇāyāma (breath regulation), meditation, relaxation techniques, and lifestyle modifications, Yoga provides an effective framework to reduce stress, restore autonomic balance, and support immune regulation. This article examines the role of Yoga in the management of autoimmune conditions with an emphasis on physiological mechanisms, psychological well-being, and lifestyle transformation.
