Abstract
Śakuntalā, the central heroine of Abhijnanasakuntalam by Kalidasa, represents one of the most profound portrayals of feminine identity in classical literature. This study examines her character through textual, aesthetic, and philosophical perspectives, supported by Sanskrit citations from the drama.
