Abstract
Dr Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam's autobiography, Wings of Fire (co-authored with scientist Arun K. Tiwari and published in 1999), represents a paradigm shift in Indian English life writing. Moving beyond traditional political memoirs and spiritual confessions, the text operates as a literary artefact, an epistemological treatise, and a visionary blueprint for postcolonial national development.
